How we quote
How you get a price from us
The most common roofing complaint isn’t bad work. It’s the quote that never turns up. So here’s our whole quoting process, written down, with nothing you have to chase.

What happens when we come to look
Roughly forty-five minutes, and you don’t need to do anything except point at the problem.
1. We look at the actual roof
Outside first: tiles, ridge, flashings, gutters. Then the loft if you’re happy for us to: felt, battens and timbers tell the real story.
2. We show you what we found
Photos from up there where they help, plain words either way. What’s wrong, what’s fine, and what can wait, including the parts that need nothing.
3. The price arrives in writing
Scope, materials by name, scaffold, waste, stage payments and what’s covered, itemised, so you can compare it line by line against anyone else’s.
In writing means in writing
What the written quote always includes
Exactly what’s being done and why. The materials, by name: “Marley Modern in smooth grey”, not “tiles”. Scaffold and waste as their own lines, not surprises. Stage payments set out before you commit a penny of deposit.
And what the work comes with: a 10-year workmanship warranty on a new roof, the manufacturer’s cover on EPDM and GRP flat-roof systems, and for repairs, a plain account of what we did and what it should hold.
- Scope and price, itemised
- Materials named
- Scaffold and waste as separate lines
- Stage payments stated up front
What we don’t do
The doorstep playbook, and why we won’t run it
No vanishing quotes
If we say we’ll send a price, you get a price. If we can’t take the job on, we say that instead, straight away, not by going quiet.
No ladder-top upgrades
The price that turns a few tiles into a whole new roof once someone’s “had a look up there”. You’ve heard the stories. Our quote is the quote for the scope it describes.
No condemning roofs from the pavement
“That whole roof’s unsafe, love” is a sales script, not a survey. If your roof is genuinely done, we show you the evidence and give you time to decide.
Two ways to get a price
Pick whichever suits the job
Repairs and leaks move fastest from a photo. New roofs and bigger jobs need eyes on the roof first, a fixed price needs a roof check.
The photo route
- Snap it. The leak, the tiles, the gutter, whatever’s wrong, from the ground is fine.
- Send it by text or WhatsApp, with your postcode.
- Get an answer. What it looks like, what we’d do, and what happens next, in writing.
The roof-check route
- Postcode. Check we cover you, takes two seconds.
- Pick a time. Tell us the days that suit; we confirm the slot.
- We turn up and look properly. Scope and price follow in writing.
Book a roof check
Tell us where you are and when suits. We confirm your slot by phone or WhatsApp, and if the postcode’s outside our patch, we say so straight away instead of wasting your week.
Questions
Straight answers
Why won’t you just give me a price over the phone?
For a repair, a photo usually gets you a straight answer. That’s why the WhatsApp lane exists. For a re-roof or anything structural, a number invented over the phone is a guess, and guesses are how prices “grow” later. A fixed price needs a roof check.
What if I don’t go ahead?
Then you’ve got a written record of what your roof needs and what it would cost, and you can use it however you like, including to keep other quotes honest. No chasing phone calls from us.
Will the price change once work starts?
The quote itemises the work and the price, in writing, and that’s what you pay for that scope. The one honest exception: things nobody can see until tiles lift, like rotten battens: the quote flags that risk and prices it as a stated contingency, so even the surprise isn’t a surprise.
How do I book a roof check?
Use the form below, or ring or text saying where you are and what’s up. We come back to confirm a slot, survey visits run Monday to Friday.
Do you quote for work outside Croydon?
Yes, across the CR postcodes and out into the SM, KT, BR and RH towns around them: Sutton, Wallington, Mitcham, Beckenham, Orpington, Worcester Park, Epsom, Redhill and Horley all included. Check your postcode on the areas page and you’ll get a straight yes or no.
Get the answer in writing
Start with a photo or book the roof check, whichever fits the job. The quote arrives itemised, and it doesn’t change on the doorstep.
