Text a photoSounds like your roof?
The things people send us photos of
- A damp patch or stain on a bedroom ceiling that grows after rain
- A tile that’s slipped, cracked or gone missing, visible from the pavement
- Bits of mortar or tile in the gutter or on the path
- Daylight showing through the loft where it shouldn’t
- Felt behind the fascia that’s sagging, brittle or torn
- A leak that “got fixed” before and came back in the same place
Any of those, and it’s worth a photo. You’ll know where you stand before anyone’s up a ladder.
What we actually do
Fixed properly, not papered over
Plenty of “repairs” are a smear of sealant over a symptom, and the leak’s back the next wet month. We fix the thing that’s actually failing: lift the area around the fault, sort what’s underneath, and put it back the way the roof was built to work.
Where the felt or battens have gone, we strip back to the deck, repair the timbers, fit a breathable underlay and re-tile, matching your existing tiles as closely as reclaimed and current stock allows. Where the fault is lead, we re-dress or replace the flashing rather than gunning mastic over it.
And if what you’ve really got is a roof at the end of its life, we say that, with photos, in plain words, instead of selling you a repair that won’t hold.
Typically on the job sheet
- Slipped, cracked and missing tiles or slates
- Ridge and hip tiles re-bedded or re-fixed
- Torn or tired felt and rotten battens
- Lead flashing around chimneys, walls and valleys
- Valley repairs and re-lining
- Moss cleared where it’s actually causing trouble
How the quote works
A straight answer, in writing
Photos first if it’s a repair; a proper look if it’s bigger. Either way the scope and the price go to you in writing, itemised, before any work starts, and the person quoting knows the crew doing it.
How we quote, in full →Our work
Straight off the crew’s phones
No staged shoots. This is what the work actually looks like mid-job and finished. More lands here as jobs wrap up.

What drives the price
What actually moves a roofing quote
Where the water’s got to
A leak travels. The stain on the ceiling is rarely under the fault, so the job is finding the entry point, not just the evidence.
Access
A ladder job, a tower, or a full scaffold: height and access move the price more than the tiles do.
Matching materials
Reclaimed slates or discontinued tiles take finding. We tell you what’s matchable and what the honest alternative is.
We don’t publish ballpark figures: a number invented without seeing the roof is exactly the doorstep trick this page exists to avoid. What we will do is put a real one in writing: here’s how the quote works.
What’s covered
Straight about what’s covered, before you pay, not after
The most common roofing fallout isn’t bad work. It’s cover people assumed they had. So here it is in a table, up front.
| Work | What it comes with | How long |
|---|---|---|
| New roof / full re-roof | Our written workmanship warranty | 10 years |
| Flat roof in EPDM or GRP | Manufacturer-backed cover on the material, plus our workmanship warranty | Per the material system |
| Repairs | A straight answer instead of paperwork: what we did, what it should hold, and anything we’d keep an eye on | , |
A repair doesn’t come with a written warranty, and we tell you that before we start, not after it rains. If a repair isn’t worth doing, we’d rather say so.

Questions
Straight answers
How quickly can you look at a repair?
Send the photo and we’ll tell you honestly what the diary looks like. Small leaks can often be dealt with same-day; survey visits run Monday to Friday, usually the next day or the day after. If it’s water coming in right now, use the emergency page.
Is my job too small for you?
No. Slipped tiles, one bad flashing, a single re-bedded ridge tile. Small repairs are half of what we do, and they’re quoted as what they are.
Will you try to sell me a new roof?
Only if your roof actually needs one, and then we show you why, with photos, and put it in writing so you can think about it. We fix the small thing when the small thing is the problem.
What does a repair come with?
A repair doesn’t come with a written warranty. We tell you that up front rather than let you assume otherwise. What you get instead is a plain account of what we did, what it should hold, and anything we’d keep an eye on. And if we think a repair won’t hold, we say so before doing it.
What should the photo show?
The problem from the ground (never climb up for us), one wider shot of the roof, and your postcode in the message. A video helps if water’s moving. Text it, or WhatsApp it, whichever you use more.
